“An Evening at the Theatre” Held To Benefit Children
In Foster Care or At Risk of Entering Foster Care

The Advisory Council for The Fund for Alexandria’s Child is inviting the public to attend “An Evening at the Theatre” on Tuesday, May 3, at 6 pm at the Little Theatre of Alexandria, 600 Wolfe St., in Old Town. The event will benefit children in foster care and those who are at risk of entering foster care. The evening includes a gala reception and a silent auction at 6 pm and a performance of Neil Simon’s Tony award-winning comedy, Biloxi Blues, at 8 pm. The cost of tickets is $25.

The silent auction will include works by various artists and photographers, fine pottery and crafts, hotel weekend getaways, fine restaurant meals, luxurious massages and personal care, and cruises on the Potomac. The reception will feature refreshments from local restaurants, such as Bittersweet, St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub, Del Ray Dreamery, Mancini’s Caf & Bakery, Taqueria Poblano, Chart House, Village Il Porto, Uptowner Caf, and Mango Mike’s; Whole Foods Market; and French wine provided courtesy of William Harrison Imports.

The Fund for Alexandria’s Child provides an opportunity for youngsters who are in foster care or who are at risk of abuse or neglect to experience some of the activities that other children often take for granted. The Fund allows program participants to have meaningful and rewarding experiences, such as field trips, scouting, music and art lessons, and summer camp, that are not covered by other funding sources.
