City of Alexandria Offers
“Building Youth Assets” Program for Residents


The City of Alexandria is offering the “Building Youth Assets,” an eight-session program, for City residents. Each session will take place at the Nannie J. Lee Memorial Recreation Center, 1108 Jefferson St., on Saturdays from April 16 through June 11. The program will focus on providing family-oriented activities that help build lifelong skills, and on promoting family interaction for participants while they have fun. The entire family is invited to participate in the free program.

The eight-session program will cover the following topics: April 16: Jewelry “Art to Wear”, 10 am to 2 pm; April 23: Balance and Agility, 10 am to noon; April 30: Math Fun, 10 am to noon; May 7: Etiquette and Manners, 10 am to noon; May 14: Basic Self-Defense, 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm; May 21: Nature/Science Is All Around, 10 am to noon; June 4: First Aid, 10 am to noon; and June 11: Double Dutch, 10 am to noon.
