The Alexandria Commission on Persons with Disabilities is seeking nominations for three annual awards that honor local residents and organizations. Vernon Ave., Alexandria, VA 22301.

The John Duty Collins III Outstanding Advocate Award recognizes an organization for contributing to the promotion of equal opportunity for persons with disabilities; the Community Organization Grant Award provides up to $1,000 in assistance to a non-profit agency in the City for its efforts to remove barriers and extend services to Alexandria residents with physical or sensory disabilities; and the Gerry Bertier Scholarship honors a resident with a disability who seeks post-secondary education.
