Catch a Shining City Star and
Nominate for Employee of the Month

The City of Alexandria encourages residents and others from the general public to catch a shining star and nominate her or him for the City Stars Employee of the Month Program. The award recognizes part-time and full-time City government employees who exemplify Alexandria’s mission and values of respect, responsibility, teamwork, communication, diversity, and leadership. Nominations for the award must be received in the City’s Department of Personnel Services by the 10th of every month.

Award recipients will be honored with the presentation of a City proclamation and recognition by City Council members, and eight hours of administrative leave. A peer group of City employees will review the nominations each month and recommend an individual or group for selection by the City Manager. City employees are allowed to nominate fellow employees.
