City of Alexandria Inclement Weather Announcement
January 19, 2005, 1:30 pm


City of Alexandria government offices remain open and City public schools will close one hour early today due to inclement weather and road conditions. The City Manager announced City employees may take liberal leave beginning at 1 pm.

All evening school activities have been cancelled.

The City’s Duncan Library has closed and the Beatley Library will close at 5 pm today. Other library branches remain open regular hours. City recreation centers will close at 6 pm and evening activities have been cancelled.

Tonight’s meeting of the Alexandria Archaeological Commission is cancelled. The Office of Historic Alexandria’s Civil War Dance Class at the Gadsby’s Taven Museum is cancelled.

The following recreation centers are scheduled to be OPEN tomorrow, Inauguration Day: Charles Houston, Cora Kelly, Mt Vernon, William Ramsay, and Nannie J Lee will be open 9 am to 6 Chinpuapin will be open from 6 am to 6 pm.
