Alexandria Announces Inauguration Day Closings

City of Alexandria government offices and Alexandria City Public Schools will be closed on Jan. 20 in observance of the Inauguration Day.

The Charles Houston, Cora Kelly, Mt. Vernon, William Ramsay and Nannie J. Lee recreation centers will be open on Jan. 20 from 9 am to 6 pm. The Chinquapin Recreation Center will be open from 6 am to 6 pm on Jan. 20. All other City recreation centers will be closed. City libraries will be closed.

DASH bus service will operate on a regular schedule on Jan. 20.

In accordance with Virginia Law, the Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces as well as time restrictions in residential permit parking districts and other areas with signed parking time limits on Jan. 20. All other parking regulations will be in effect. Additionally, HOV restrictions on Washington Street and Route 1 will be lifted on Jan. 20.

State offices in Alexandria, including Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District courts, the Clerk of Court Office and the Alexandria Health Department will be open on Jan. 20.
