Alexandria Police Seek Identity of Bank Robber

The Alexandria Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are attempting to identify the individual who robbed a bank in Old Town Alexandria earlier this week. Investigators are releasing photos from the bank security camera with the hope that someone will recognize the robber.

Just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, the suspect entered the Virginia Commerce Bank at 1414 Prince Street and approached the teller. The suspect demanded money and the victim teller complied. The suspect then fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. No weapon was seen and no one was injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, 30 to 40 years old, 5'8" to 5'10", and wearing a black coat, black shirt and black pants. He is light- or medium-skinned with a pock-marked face.

A Crimesolvers reward of up to $1000 is available anyone providing information leading to an arrest or indictment. Anyone recognizing the suspect or having information about this incident is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Section of the Alexandria Police Department at 703-838-4711 or Alexandria Crimesolvers at 703-838-4858.
