Alexandria Commission for Women Seeks
Nominations for Awards Program

The Alexandria Commission for Women is seeking nominations of women who have made exceptional contributions to the City of Alexandria for its 25th Annual Salute to Women Awards Banquet. All nominations must be submitted to the City’s Office on Women, 421 King St., Suite 400, by the close of business day on Friday, Feb. 25.

The banquet, which is held during Women's History Month, is scheduled for Monday, March 28, at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, 625 First St. Nominees will be recognized for their achievements in several areas including health and safety, legislative advocacy, cultural affairs, and providing opportunities to youth.

Proceeds from the banquet will benefit the Office on Women’s Sexual Assault Response and Awareness (SARA) program. The SARA program provides education, outreach, counseling, court advocacy, and support programs for victims of sexual assault. Corporate sponsors are being sought to support the banquet and the SARA program.
