Alexandria Police Investigate a Serious Stabbing
Victim is Flown to Nearby Hospital


Today at approximately 3:30 p.m., a 42-year-old Alexandria man was stabbed by a known suspect.

Police and medic units were called to an apartment building in the 4200 block of Duke Street and discovered the victim suffering from a stab wound. Officers began to search the area and were able to apprehend the suspect a short distance away. The suspect, a 49-year-old male City resident, was taken into custody and is being questioned by detectives. A motive has not yet been determined and this case still remains under investigation.

The victim was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he underwent surgery and is listed in stable condition.
