City Offers Free Vocational Training to Qualified City Residents

The City of Alexandria is offering free vocational training for City residents to enhance their employment skills through the Department of Human Services’ JobLink, the City’s one-stop career center. In order to qualify for the training, participants must be receiving or be qualified to receive unemployment benefits, and are unemployed through no fault of their own. The U.S. Department of Labor is funding the training to help unemployed persons re-enter the workforce.

The City’s JobLink career center provides job listings, and telephone and computer access to local job seekers. The center is located at 2914 Business Center Drive (two blocks south of Duke Street at the intersection of Duke and Roth streets). Hours of operation are 8 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; and 8 am to 8 pm on Monday and Thursday.

For more information, call JobLink at 703.838.4316.
