City’s Mirant Community Monitoring Group
Meeting Location Is Clarified

The City of Alexandria’s Mirant Community Monitoring Group will meet tonight (Dec. 2) to review the Mirant Potomac River Power Plant’s proposed protocols for a downwash modeling study. The meeting will take place at City Hall, 301 King St., in the City Council work room, second floor, at 7:30 pm.

The Alexandria City Council formed the Mirant Community Monitoring Group in October to serve as a central information-receiving and monitoring group for issues involving the Mirant Potomac River Power Plant. The group is composed of seven members: Poul Hertel, Elizabeth Chimento, a representative from the North Old Town Independent Citizens Association (NOTICe), a representative from Marina Towers, a representative from the Northeast Citizens Association, a representative from the Environmental Policy Commission, and two members of Council: Vice Mayor Del Pepper and Paul Smedberg.

For more information on tonight’s meeting, call William Skrabak at 703.838.4334.
