Alexandria Police Release Composite of Sexual Assault Suspect

Alexandria detectives have developed a composite sketch of a suspect who sexually assaulted a woman earlier this week. The sketch is being released with the hope that someone will recognize the suspect and call police.

On Monday, November 1, around 11:28 a.m., a 34-year-old Alexandria woman was sexually assaulted in an apartment building in 100 block of South Van Dorn Street. Investigation revealed that the victim had entered the trash room on the fourth floor of the building and the suspect followed her in.

The suspect was armed with a sharp metal object and he threatened her with it. He forced her to perform a sex act on him. He then fled from the apartment building and was last seen driving away in a full-size black SUV.

The suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion, slanted eyes and thick lips. He is approximately 21 to 23 years old, 5'7" tall, and 160 to 165 pounds. He has a tattoo of a lion’s head on his left chest. He was last seen wearing a grey shirt, black pants and black shoes.

Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Section at 703.838.4711 or Alexandria Crimesolvers at 703.838.4858. Callers don’t have to give their name, only information, and if the tip leads to an arrest or indictment, the caller is eligible for a reward of up to $1000.

Note: The composite sketch appears below.
