Walk to Fight Breast Cancer
Alexandria’s Walk to Fight Breast Cancer is just around the corner, and it is time for residents to lace up their walking shoes to participate in the 10th Anniversary of this event. The Walk will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 8 am at Cameron Run Regional Park. Registration is $25 for adults and $10 for children, if pre-registered by Oct. 20, and $35 after that date. Walkers can choose from a 1.5K/3.5K/5K walk or run.

Residents and local businesses are encouraged to form teams and obtain pledges for the Walk. The youth, adult, and team that raise the most money will be eligible for great prizes, such as gift certificates at local restaurants, weekend hotel packages, salon and spa gift certificates, and more! All proceeds from the Walk go to support the Alexandria Breast Cancer Walk Fund, which has provided free mammography screenings at Inova Alexandria Hospital to more than 2,200 women during the past ten years.

They can also stop by the Alexandria Office on Women to register and pick up individual or team t-shirts prior to the Walk.
