Alexandria Police Charge Two Suspects with Robbery;
Investigation into Homicide Continues

Two suspects were charged today with last night’s robbery of an Alexandria woman at her home. Antowaun Lynch, 20, of 1005 Balsamtree Drive in Fairmount Heights, Md., and a second suspect were formally charged this morning with Robbery and are being held without bond at the Alexandria jail. The identity of the second suspect has not yet been determined.

Investigation into the fatal shooting of a pizza delivery man last night in the 200 block of North Fayette Street is continuing. In that case, 47-year-old Musharaf Shah of Alexandria, was shot in the chest shortly after making a delivery around 10:08 p.m. The suspect then fled from the area in a black Subaru. The victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital and was pronounced dead at 10:45 p.m.

Around 10:25 p.m., a 35-year-old Alexandria woman was confronted by an armed suspect just as she was entering her home in the 800 block of South Lee Street. The suspect forced her inside and robbed her before fleeing.

Moments later, Fairfax County police saw a black Subaru just south of the Alexandria City line. Recognizing that it matched the description of the vehicle seen at the shooting, officers pursued it. The pursuit traveled back into Alexandria and the suspects abandoned the car in the 900 block of South Alfred Street and attempted to flee. Both were caught a short time later in the 300 block of North Saint Asaph Street and taken into custody.
