Alexandria Police Investigate Robbery at Wachovia Bank

The Alexandria Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating an armed robbery that occurred today at the Wachovia Bank at 4651 King Street in Alexandria. There were no injuries.

At approximately 2:02 p.m., two suspects, both armed with handguns, entered the bank and approached the bank manager. They announced the robbery and went behind the teller counter where they removed money from the teller drawers. Both suspects then fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

Both suspects are described as black males wearing ski masks over their faces and gloves that covered their hands and lower arms.
