Update: Alexandria Police Seek Three Suspects in Shooting, Armed Carjacking
Alexandria detectives are investigating a shooting and armed carjacking that occurred today in the 100 block of Dale Street at 10:15 a.m. A 20 year-old Arlington County resident was approached by three suspects in the yard of an acquaintance, when one suspect produced a handgun and demanded money. The suspects not satisfied with the amount, attempted to force the victim into his car by gun point to get more. A struggle ensued and the victim was shot once in the leg.
Two of the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, a gold Buick. The third suspect may have left the scene in another vehicle. A short time later, the Alexandria police observed the victim’s vehicle traveling south on Patrick Street. After striking several parked vehicles, the suspects jumped out and escaped on foot.
Fairfax County assisted with a blood hound and U.S. Park Police helped with their helicopter.
The armed suspect is described as a black male, 20-23 years of age, 5' 8" - 5' 11", small build, wearing a white t-shirt, baggy black or blue jeans and a baseball cap.
The second suspect is described as a black male, dark complexion, 20-23 years old, 6', thin build, thin goatee, wearing a white t-shirt and a green baseball cap with the Celtics or Sonics’ emblem.
The third suspect, who fled from the scene of the shooting, is described as a black male, 17-20 years of age, 5' 8", thin build, and possibly wearing a black and red ball cap.
Anyone knowing the identity of the suspects is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Section at (703) 838-4711.
