City Shoppers Invited to Help Foster Children

The Alexandria Department of Human Services invites City shoppers to come out and help foster children by purchasing items in the Shopping Day for Foster Children at Target in Potomac Yard, 3101 Jefferson Davis Highway, on Saturday, June 12, from 10 am to 3 pm.

Participants of the event will receive a printed list of items from which to choose for children of all ages. Merchandise will include baby equipment, girls or boys outfits, tennis shoes, backpacks and linen sets.

The Shopping Day for Foster Children event is sponsored by the Alexandria Department of Human Services, SCAN of Northern Virginia, and the Virginia Emergency Families for Children.

All merchandise purchased will benefit children who are in foster care and others who are receiving special therapeutic services. Purchases will be tax deductible and receipts will be available for tax records.
