Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority Holds Public Meeting
on Capital Improvement Program

The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority (NVRPA) will hold a public meeting in Alexandria on the park authority’s draft FY 2005-FY 2009 Capital Improvement Program. The meeting will be held on June 10 at 7 pm in the Nannie J. Lee Recreation Center, 1108 Jefferson St.

The purpose of the NVRPA’s Capital Improvement Plan is to develop a practical plan for regional park lands and facilities of Northern Virginia. The program primarily seeks to restore, renovate and modernize existing park facilities.

The park authority’s six-member jurisdictions, which served as a primary source of funding, include the City of Alexandria, Arlington County, the City of Fairfax, Fairfax County, the City of Falls Church and Loudoun County. Each local government contributed in direct proportion to its share of the region’s population.
