Alexandria Seeks Nominations for
2004 Service to the Community Award

The City of Alexandria Park and Recreation Commission announces its 20th annual awards program to select and formally recognize an outstanding citizen who has provided a valuable service to the community regarding Recreation, Park or Cultural needs.

An Alexandria group, club, organization or corporate neighbor may also be nominated for an award for such service. Nominees for the award for citizen, group, club, organization or corporate neighbor should be volunteers who have contributed time, talent or resources in an exemplary fashion. Nominations of youths are encouraged.

The Park and Recreation Commission needs help in identifying those who contribute so that they may be recognized. The award will be presented at the Alexandria Birthday Celebration on July 10, at Oronoco Bay Park, 701 N. Lee St. Nominations must be received no later than June 1.

Additional information and nomination form may be found at www.ci.alexandria.va.us/recreation or by calling the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities at 703.838.4842.
