Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day in Alexandria

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day will be held on April 22. Join the City of Alexandria’s Commission for Women, Office on Women and City Manager’s Office that morning for a kick-off reception at 8 am in the Vola Lawson Lobby of City Hall, 301 King St. Participants can bring a child to work or sign up to mentor an Alexandria student. Students, ages 13-17, are paired with a mentor according to their field of interest. This day provides a valuable experience for youth that can shape their education choices and future career goals. Mentors are still needed, and mentor applications are available on the web at www.alexwomen.com or by requesting them through the Office on Women at 703.838.5030. Applications are due by April 15.
