Woodrow Wilson Bridge Information Meetings Planned

Since January, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project Team has been working with Tidewater Skanska Corporation of Chesapeake, VA the low bidder for the main Route 1 Interchange contract. Work to date has included development of schedules and methods for the construction, mobilization of staff, equipment and materials, and limited work on staging areas and utility relocations. With VDOT approval of preliminary schedules, the contractor and the Project are now ready to conduct public meetings for the purpose of informing interested citizens, motorists and others about how this work will unfold and what impacts should be expected.

Two “Pardon Our Dust” meetings are planned:

Thursday, March 11, 2004
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Lee Recreation Center
1108 Jefferson Street
Tuesday, March 16, 2004
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Hampton Inn Alexandria
5821 Richmond Highway

These meetings are an opportunity to meet key players among the Contractor’s and the Project’s personnel, to learn about the sequence of work, and to ask questions about details that may affect you. There will be a number of graphic exhibits, as well as knowledgeable people to explain when particular work will occur, what is planned and how it will be performed.
