Alexandria Police Release Photos of Bank Robbery Suspect

The Alexandria Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are releasing security photos of an unidentified bank robber. The suspect is wanted the armed robbery of the Wachovia Bank at 4651 King Street this past Friday, February 27.

Just after noon, the suspect entered the bank and approached a teller. He displayed a handgun and demanded money, and the employee complied. The suspect fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

The photos, which appear on the City’s web site (ci.alexandria.va.us) under “Press Releases,” show the suspect in the lobby, at the counter and then leaving the bank.

The suspect is described as a dark-complected black male, in his mid to late 30s, 6'2" to 6'3" tall with a thin build. He has shoulder-length dreadlocks and was last seen wearing a white Tyvek-style suit with white tennis shoes.

A reward of up to $1000 is being offered through Crime Solvers for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and indictment. Anyone knowing the suspect’s identity is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Section at 703.838.4711 or Crime Solvers at 703.838.4858.
