Alexandria Police Investigate Robbery at Wachovia Bank

The Alexandria Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a robbery that occurred today at the Wachovia Bank at 4651 King Street in Alexandria. There were no injuries.

At approximately 12:13 p.m., the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller and displayed a handgun. The suspect demanded money and the employee complied. The suspect fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a dark-complected black male, in his mid to late 30s, 6'2" to 6'3" tall with a thin build. He has shoulder-length dreadlocks and was last seen wearing a white Tyvek-style suit with white tennis shoes.
