Alexandria Commission for Women Seeks Nominations for Awards Program

The Alexandria Commission for Women is seeking nominations of women who have made exceptional contributions to the City of Alexandria, for its 24th Annual Salute to Women Awards Banquet. Nominations must be submitted to the Office on Women by the close of business on Feb. 27.
The banquet, held during Women’s History Month, is scheduled for March 29 at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, located at 625 First St. in Alexandria. Women will be recognized for their achievements in several areas, including health and safety, legislative advocacy, cultural affairs, and providing opportunities for youth.
Proceeds from the banquet will benefit programs of the Office on Women, many of which depend upon additional funding from grants and private donations for support. These programs provide important education, outreach, and support programs for women in Alexandria.
