Police Identify Victim of Fatal Attack
Alexandria police have identified the victim of last night’s fatal beating as Schuyler Hamilton Jones, a 16-year-old Alexandria boy. The T.C. Williams high school student was attacked Saturday night, at approximately 11:00 p.m., at Market Square in the 300 block of King Street.
A group of two to five subjects, described as other teenaged males, assaulted Schuyler and then fled. He was transported to Inova Alexandria Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:55 p.m.
The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy being performed by the Medical Examiner tomorrow. Police are investigating this case as a homicide but have not determined a motive for the attack.
Police believe that the victim may have known or been acquainted with his attackers. Detectives urge anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who has information to call Alexandria police at (703) 838-4444.
