City Website Offers Additional Features

The City of Alexandria continues to update and add features to its website, www.ci.alexandria.va.us, providing more information and services to citizens via the internet. Here are the latest additions to the City's website:

Classification and Compensation - The Personnel Services Department launched a new web site that allows the public direct access to information on class specifications, compensation pay plans, Administrative Regulations concerning classification and compensation policies, a user friendly Job Analysis Questionnaire that can be downloaded, and the City's Compensation Philosophy.

eNews - This service provides rapid dissemination of information about the City of Alexandria to the public, at no charge, via email. Anyone can register to receive email updates from the City of Alexandria on topics selected from a menu. The available topics include City News Releases, City Council Agendas, the monthly schedule of City Government Meetings, Board and Commission Vacancies, and the Daily Crime Report. To register, visit the City’s website and click on eNews.

City of Alexandria Statistical Profile - The Statistic Profile was designed to provide basic statistical information about Alexandria for use by citizens and businesses. The data in this report has been selected and organized to be especially useful to analysts and market researchers.

Tobacco to Tourism - This site represents an online version of an exhibit organized by the Office of Historic Alexandria and City staff and displayed at the Smithsonian Arts & Industries Building as part of the 2003 Folklife Festival celebrating Alexandria's Scottish Heritage.

Mental Health/Mental Retardation/Substance Abuse (MH/MR/SA) - a totally redesigned site.

Solicitation Bid Board - The Solicitation Bid Board presents future City procurements which have an estimated value of $50,000 or more. Current solicitations remain posted until the opening or closing date. Afterwards, the status of the solicitation may be found by viewing a "Notice of Awards" page or a "Current Contracts" page.

Permit Tracker Application - The City's database can be searched for information regarding building, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing permits applied for and issued in the last year. The permit database may be searched by permit case number, permit case address, or project number.
