Alexandria Police Investigate Fatal Stabbing;
Two Suspects in Custody Following Pursuit on I-395



The Alexandria Police Department is investigating the fatal stabbing of an unidentified man at 5:21 p.m. today. The incident occurred at a residence in the 3900 block of Taney Avenue near North Early Street. The victim ran south on North Early Street toward Duke Street, where he collapsed.

Two suspects fled from the scene in a silver Lexus GS 300 sedan. An officer saw the vehicle traveling westbound on Duke Street and when the vehicle did not stop, officers pursued it north, up I-395. The suspects abandoned the vehicle near the Glebe Road exit and attempted to flee. Officers apprehended both suspects nearby.

The victim was flown by helicopter to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The suspects are being interviewed at police headquarters but have not yet been charged. Their identities are being withheld pending formal charges. Investigation is continuing.

This is the second homicide in Alexandria this year.
