BB&T Bank Branch is Robbed


The Alexandria Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today at the BB&T Bank at 1717 King Street in Alexandria. There were no injuries.

At approximately 1:53 p.m., the suspect entered the bank and approached the teller. The suspect implied he had a weapon and demanded money, and the employee complied. The suspect fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. No weapon was seen.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his 30s, approximately 5-feet 7-inches to 5-feet 9-inches tall and weighing 155 to 160 pounds. He was clean-shaven with brown hair, carrying a dark bag, and last seen wearing a blue baseball hat and a white shirt with 3/4-length sleeves.
