Missing Alexandria Girl Back Home;
Five-Year-Old in Good Condition

Shaneece McBride, the 5-year-old Alexandria girl who had been missing for three days, was returned to her home this evening. Shaneece’s guardian contacted police at 6:44 p.m. today and reported that Shaneece was back at their home in the 300 block of Laverne Avenue. Police believe Shaneece was with Minnie Marie Allen, the 33-year-old girlfriend of Shaneece’s guardian.

Shaneece had been missing since the evening of July16, and was reported missing to police on July 17 when Ms. Allen did not return with her. Because Ms. Allen has a history of substance abuse, police were concerned for Shaneece’s welfare.

Shaneece appears to be in good condition. No criminal charges have been placed, and police and Child Protective Services will be following up on this case.
