Alexandria Police Seek Missing Girl;
Five-Year-Old May Be with Alexandria Woman in Southeast D.C.

The Alexandria Police Department is searching for a missing 5-year-old girl, Shaneece McBride. Shaneece may be with Minnie Marie Allen, a 33-year-old Alexandria woman. Because Ms. Allen has a history of substance abuse, police are concerned for Shaneece’s welfare.

Ms. Allen is Shaneece’s guardian’s girlfriend. They left Shaneece’s home in the 300 block of Laverne Avenue on Wednesday, July 16. When they did not return the next day, Shaneece’s guardian reported her missing. While Ms. Allen does not have legal custody of Shaneece, police do not yet consider this case an abduction.

Ms. Allen is known to frequent areas of Del Ray, Alexandria, as well as Southeast Washington, D.C., specifically the areas near K and Third Streets SE and M and First Streets SE. Detectives searched these locations today but did not locate Shaneece or Ms. Allen.

Shaneece McBride is described as a medium-complected black female, 4-feet tall, 65 pounds, with braided hair. She was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and green shoes. Minnie Marie Allen is described as a dark-complected black female, 5-feet, 1-inch tall and 160 pounds. She may be driving a white, four-door 1987 Nissan Stanza with Virginia license plates JDJ 8222.

Alexandria police ask anyone who sees Shaneece or Ms. Allen to call (703) 838-4444. Ms. Allen is not suspected of any crime and there is no warrant for her arrest.
