ALEXANDRIA CITY COUNCIL INSTALLATION
SCHEDULED FOR JULY 1

A special meeting of the Alexandria City Council is scheduled for tomorrow night, Tuesday, July 1, for the installation of the newly-elected City Council. The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 pm in the auditorium of T.C. Williams High School, 3330 King St. A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony in the high school cafeteria.

During the installation ceremony, Clerk of the Circuit Court Edward Semonian will give the oath of office to Mayor William D. Euille. The clerk will also give the oath of office to City Council members Ludwig P. Gaines, K. Robert Krupicka, Andrew H. Macdonald, Redella S. “Del” Pepper, Paul C. Smedberg, and Joyce Woodson.

The next item on the agenda will be the election by the City Council of the vice mayor followed by remarks by the mayor, vice mayor, and members of the City Council and appointments of council members to boards and commissions.

The program will also include musical entertainment by the Alexandria City Employees Choir. The Al Williams Jazz Quartet will perform at the reception.
