Alexandria Announces Schedule of Services
For Friday, July 4 in Observance of Independence Day

City government offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Full police and emergency services will be in place during the holiday.

In accordance with Virginia State Law, the Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces, as well as time restrictions in residential permit parking districts and other areas with signed parking limits on July 4. Additionally, HOV restrictions on Washington Street and Route 1 will be lifted on July 4.

On July 4, all City recreation centers will be closed, except for Chinquapin Park Recreation Center, which will be open from 8 am to 5 pm.

City libraries will be closed on Friday, July 4.

DASH bus service will operate on a Sunday schedule on Friday, July 4.

State offices in Alexandria, including the Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District courts, the Clerk of Court Office and the Alexandria Health Department, will be closed on July 4.
