Alexandria Offers Get-Away Trips
The Senior Programs Office offers a series of economical Get-Away Trips in the summer. People of all ages are welcome to participate. All trips return and depart at the Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St.

Travel through time on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad on July 17 from 8 am to 6 pm. The 32 mile round trip departs from Cumberland, MD and travels through the spectacular scenery of the Allegheny Mountains. A narrator will be aboard to provide you with information on the scenery, history, and culture along the route. The registration deadline is June 20 and there is a fee of $40.

Enjoy an interactive tour of The Amish Experience. The three hour guided tour of Lancaster, PA’s Amish Country includes an interactive food demonstration with a “Celebrity Chef” from local restaurants. A family style meal at the Plain and Fancy Restaurant is included. The registration deadline is July 18 and there is a fee of $65.
