Public Hearing Scheduled
For Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial


The Alexandria City Council has scheduled a public hearing to discuss a memorial in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The hearing for the King Memorial is scheduled as part of the City Council’s Saturday public hearing on June 14 beginning at 9:30 a.m. The hearing takes place inside Council Chambers, City Hall, at 301 King St.

The Council received the Martin Luther King, Jr., work group’s recommendations regarding a permanent memorial in the City at is May 13 legislative meeting. The work group was established by City Council with the mission of determining whether a memorial is appropriate and, if so, to consider the type of memorial and potential locations.
