Regional Contracting Opportunities and Strategies the Focus of
Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and Minority Business Coalition Small Business Conference

On May 1, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) and the Minority Business Coalition (MBC) will host a joint business opportunity conference for the region’s small and minority-owned businesses. The two organizations have combined their business opportunity fairs, COG's MAXACCESS and MBC's DC ProBiz, into one conference, MAXACCESS/DC PROBIZ. This free conference aims to facilitate contracting opportunities for small businesses in the Greater Washington region.

The conference will feature workshops on marketing, preparing successful bids and proposals and business development strategies. It is expected to attract thousands of participants and exhibitors. Experts on small business certification programs, e-commerce, and technical assistance will make presentations. Washington area governments and the private sector will have the opportunity to partner with local businesses, and, in some cases, may offer on-the-spot contracting opportunities.

COG is an association of 18 local governments working together for a better metropolitan region. MBC is a minority business trade association representing more than 2,000 small and minority-owned businesses in the District of Columbia.

The conference will take place at the Washington Convention Center on Thurs., May 1 from 8:30 am to 5 pm. For more information, call 202.722.2465 or visit www.DCProBiz.com
