Chevy Chase Bank Branch is Robbed


The Alexandria Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today at the Chevy Chase Bank branch inside the Giant supermarket at 3131 Duke Street in Alexandria. There were no injuries.

At approximately 3 p.m., the suspect entered the banking area and approached the teller. The suspect demanded money and the employee complied. The suspect fled from the supermarket with an undisclosed amount of money. No weapon was displayed.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 30 to 40, 6-feet to 6-feet 1-inch tall and 180 to 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark, knit cap, sunglasses, jeans and a dark ski jacket.
