Alexandrians Encouraged to Register to Vote

The deadline to register to vote in time for the upcoming general election of mayor, city council, and school board members is April 7! Exercise your right to register and vote in Alexandria so that you have a voice in your government. The next general election in Alexandria is on May 6, in order to vote, your voter registration form must be postmarked or delivered no later than April 7, 29 days before the election.

You are eligible to vote if you are a citizen of the United States, a legal resident of Virginia, will be 18 years of age by the next election, have had your rights restored if you have ever been convicted of a felony, and have had capacity restored if you have been declared mentally incapacitated in a Circuit Court.

In order to register, you must give the following information under oath: full legal name, current residence address, date of birth, Social Security number, place of previous registration, date your rights were restored if they had been removed.

Alexandrians can register to vote in person at any of these locations:
- Office of Voter Registration, 132 North Royal St. Suite 100
- City Hall, Citizen Assistance Office, 301 King St. Suite 1900
- Beatley Central Library, 5005 Duke St.
- Barrett Branch Library, 717 Queen St.
- Duncan Branch Library, 2501 Commonwealth Ave.
- Division of Motor Vehicles, 2681 Mill Rd.

Registration is also available by mail. Pick up an application at any of the locations above, any Alexandria Post Office, call the Registrar at 703.838.4050, or download an application at www.alexandriavoter.org
