City of Alexandria Announces Schedule of Services
For Monday, Feb. 17, in Observance of President’s Day

City government offices will be closed on Mon., Feb. 17, in observance of President’s Day.

The Treasury and Revenue Divisions of the Finance Department, which are regularly open on Saturday mornings for payment of property taxes and parking tickets, will be closed on Sat., Feb. 15, and Mon., Feb. 17.

The Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces, as well as time restrictions in residential permit parking districts and other areas with signed parking time limits, on Mon., Feb. 17. Additionally, HOV restrictions on Washington St. and Route 1 will be lifted on Mon., Feb. 17.

City Schools will be closed on Mon., Feb. 17.

DASH bus service will operate on a normal schedule on Mon., Feb. 17.

The Charles Houston, Cora Kelly, Mt. Vernon, William Ramsay and Nannie Lee recreation centers will be open from 9 am to 6 pm and the Chinquapin Park Recreation Center will be open from 6 am to 6 pm on Mon., Feb. 17.

City libraries will be closed on Mon., Feb. 17.

There will be no residential trash and recycling collection on Mon., Feb. 17. All collection services will be delayed by one day the week of Feb. 17. For example, residential trash and recycling services regularly scheduled for Tues., Feb. 18, will occur on Wed., Feb. 19.

State offices in Alexandria, including the Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District courts, the Clerk of Court Office and the Alexandria Health Department, will be closed on Mon., Feb. 17.
