Alexandria Police Seek Identity of Bank Robber

The Alexandria Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are seeking the identity of the suspect who robbed the Commonwealth One credit union earlier this week. Investigators are releasing photos from the security cameras with the hope that someone will recognize him.

The Commonwealth One, located at 4875 Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria, was robbed on Monday, December 9, at approximately 11:45 a.m. The suspect entered the credit union and approached the teller. The suspect, who did not display any weapon, demanded money and the employee complied. The suspect fled from the credit union with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 35 years old, 5-feet 10-inches to 6-feet tall, and 175 to 200 pounds. He is dark-complected, clean-shaven, balding, with gold-rimmed prescription glasses. He last seen wearing a waist-length black jacket, black pants, white shirt and black tie.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Section of the Alexandria Police Department at (703) 838-4444 or (703) 838-4711.
