City of Alexandria Establishes Environmental Coordination Group

Alexandria has established an Environmental Coordination Group (ECG) in accordance with the Water Quality Supplement of the City’s Master Plan. The ECG was established in order to reduce redundancy and focus City outreach efforts in a cohesive manner.

The purpose of the ECG is to better coordinate and exchange information between City departments concerning City projects, policies, procedures, and community outreach efforts that may have an impact on the environment and water quality.

The ECG will also assist in making sure that all City projects comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, as well as improve coordination and communication with the City’s Environmental Policy Commission.

The Environmental Coordination Group consists of representatives from the departments of Transportation and Environmental Services, Health, Fire, Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities, Planning and Zoning, General Services, and the Alexandria Sanitation Authority.

For more information about Alexandria’s ECG call William J. Skrabak at 703.519.3400 Ext. 163
