Alexandria to Host Adoption Saturday To Celebrate
City’s Newest Adoptive Families

The Alexandria Circuit Court, in partnership with the Alexandria Human Services Department, will celebrate new families that have been brought together through adoption at Adoption Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002 from 11 am to 1 pm in the Alexandria Circuit Court, 520 King St, fourth floor, Alexandria.

The Adoption Saturday celebration will include a court ceremony, making children who have been placed with adoptive families permanent members of the family. Additional recognition will be given to the families and their friends, as well as the many social service professionals, that made the adoptions possible. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.

Many children being adopted originally came to the attention of the court due to cases of abuse or neglect. Others entered foster care through voluntary relinquishment by their parents. Fortunately, loving, supportive people have opened their homes and hearts and will become their permanent family. Adoption Saturday will celebrate their commitment to one another and the bright futures ahead of them.
