Alexandria Police Investigate an Acquaintance Shooting


The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 900 block of Wolfe Street this evening at approximately 5:27 p.m.

The victim, a 30-year-old male City resident, was shot one time in the upper torso. Investigation revealed that the victim was standing in a nearby parking lot with a small group of individuals when an argument began between the victim and another male. The suspect, who is believed to be an acquaintance, shot the victim and then fled on foot. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'6"-5'7", thin build and was wearing all black clothing and a blue bandana across his forehead. A medic unit and police were called to the scene and the victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital by ambulance. He is being treated for his non-life threatening injury.
