Alexandria Police Release Photo of Suspect in Sexual Assault

Alexandria police are releasing a photo of Chauncey Laurent Walker, who was arrested yesterday after two women were sexually assaulted in their Alexandria apartment.

Walker, a 23-year-old man of no fixed address, was charged with Burglary with the Intent to Commit Rape While Armed following the assault of a 26-year-old and a 30-year-old in their apartment in the 1400 block of North Van Dorn Street.

Investigation revealed that the two women had returned to their home at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29. They discovered the suspect inside their apartment, armed with a gun. He sexually assaulted both women. The victims fled from the apartment around 4 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, and immediately sought help from police.

Based on information from the victims, police located Chauncey Walker in a nearby apartment. He had been staying there a short time and does not have a permanent address. He was arrested and is being held without bond at the Alexandria jail.
