Alexandria Police Investigate a Critical Accident;
Man Falls From Truck


The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a critical accident in the 1400 block of North Beauregard Street which occurred today at approximately 11:38 a.m. The victim, Ceasar Rivera, a 63-year-old male and resident of Silver Spring Maryland, was riding in the back of a commercial box-style truck, along with two other men, when he fell from the truck as it was traveling northbound on North Beauregard Street from eastbound Sanger Avenue.

The truck, operated by a 26-year-old Maryland man, left the scene of the accident after the victim fell. Medic units arrived on the scene and attended to the victim. Rivera suffered a massive head injury as a result of his fall and was flown by helicopter to Washington Hospital Center where he is listed in critical condition.

The Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the accident. The driver of the truck, Walter Oswaldo Agreda Monzon of 14203 Grand Pre Road in Silver Spring Maryland, was later located and charged with Felony Hit and Run, and two other misdemeanor traffic related offenses. He is being held at the Alexandria jail without bond.
