Alexandria Police Arrest Four Suspects in Multiple Shooting;
Four Teens Injured in the Attack

Four individuals, three adults and one juvenile, have been arrested and charged with felonious assault and knowingly participating in a criminal act for the benefit of a criminal street gang. Two of the adults, Luis Noe Lopez, a 20-year-old male of 511 Four Mile Road and Amilcar Lopez-Melgar, a 20-year-old male of 7908 San Leandro Drive in Fairfax County, are currently being detained in the Alexandria Detention Center without bond. The other adult, Denis Rivera, an 18-year-old male of 4627 Seminary Road, is being detained in the Arlington Detention Center without bond. The fourth suspect, a 16-year-old male Woodbridge resident, is currently incarcerated in the Alexandria Juvenile Detention Center.

On the early morning of June 9, at 12:46 a.m., Alexandria police responded to the 4200 block of Duke Street after receiving calls for shots fired. Officers located three victims, suffering from gunshot wounds, in the parking lot and courtyard of an apartment complex. Police learned of a fourth victim when he sought treatment at Alexandria Hospital.

A 14-year-old male and a 15-year-old female, both from Alexandria, were transported by ambulance to Fairfax Hospital. A 16-year-old male from Woodbridge and a 19-year-old male from Arlington were treated at Alexandria Hospital. The 14-year-old underwent surgery and is now recuperating from his injuries. The other victims’ injuries were not life-threatening.
