Alexandria Police Investigate Multiple Shooting;
Four Teens Injured in Possible Gang-Related Attack

Early this morning, at 12:46 a.m., Alexandria police responded to the 4200 block of Duke Street after receiving calls for shots fired. Officers located three victims, suffering from gunshot wounds, in the parking lot and courtyard of an apartment complex. Police learned of a fourth victim when he sought treatment at Alexandria Hospital.

A 14-year-old male and a 15-year-old female, both from Alexandria, were transported by ambulance to Fairfax Hospital. A 16-year-old male from Woodbridge and a 19-year-old male from Arlington are being treated at Alexandria Hospital. The 14-year-old is undergoing surgery and is in critical condition. The other victims’ injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Initial investigation reveals that the victims were in the back parking lot of Cameron Commons when the shooting occurred. Detectives are investigating the possibility that this incident was gang-related.

The three suspects are described as males wearing dark clothing. They were last seen fleeing the area on foot. K-9 units and a Fairfax County police helicopter searched for the suspects, but they were not located.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Alexandria Police Department at (703) 838-4444.
