Alexandria Police Remember Fallen Officers During National Police Week

During National Police Week (Sunday, May 12 through Friday, May 17) hundreds of family members, friends and fellow officers will honor the memory of police officers killed in the line of duty by visiting the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C.

In recognition of National Police Week, the Alexandria Police Department will pay tribute to its fallen officers with a memorial service on Thursday, May 16, at 7:30 p.m., at the Baptist Temple Church (700 Commonwealth Avenue).

The service, which is held annually, will honor the memory of the City's fallen officers and to pray for the safety of those who continue to serve. Fourteen police officers and one deputy have lost their lives while protecting the people of Alexandria.
