Alexandria Police Identify Cyclist Killed in Accident
The Alexandria Police Department have identified the victim of this morning’s fatal traffic accident as Jose Cabrera, a 33-year-old Alexandria man. Mr. Cabrera was riding a bicycle to work when he was struck by a dump truck at the intersection of Duke and Dove Streets.
The Accident Reconstruction Team is seeking assistance from anyone who may have witnessed the accident which occurred around 7:26 a.m. Witnesses are asked to call Officer Milner or Officer Henderson at (703) 838-4744.
No charges have been filed pending the outcome of the investigation. The identity of the truck driver, a 27-year-old Alexandria man, is not being released.
This the first fatal traffic accident in Alexandria this year.
