Alexandria Police Investigate Bank Robbery

The Alexandria Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today at the First Union Bank located at 1711 Fern Street in Alexandria. There were no injuries.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller counter, implied that he had a weapon and demanded money. The employee complied and the suspect then fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a black male, 30 to 35 years old, approximately 6-feet tall, with a stocky build and medium brown complexion. He was wearing a faded blue jean jacket, faded blue jeans and a black cap.

This is the second bank robbery in Alexandria this year.
