Alexandria Police Search for Bank Robbery Suspect,
William C. Reid Wanted for Robbery of Wachovia Bank

Detectives with the Alexandria Police Department have identified the suspect responsible for last week’s robbery of the Wachovia Bank in Old Town. Police have an arrest warrant for William C. Reid, charging him with the September 17 robbery of the Wachovia at 325 South Washington Street.

Detectives are also investigating whether Reid is responsible for robbing the same bank earlier today.

William C. Reid is described as a 32-year-old black male of no fixed address. He is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs 220 pounds, with a medium complexion and short hair. Reid has used the aliases “Bean” and “William Jones.” He is known to frequent Alexandria, but may be anywhere in the metropolitan area.

There is a Crimesolvers reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to Reid’s arrest and conviction. Anyone with information about Reid’s whereabouts is asked to call Alexandria detectives at (703) 838-4711 or Crimesolvers at (703) 838-4858.
